Memorial Day Celebrations

This weekend is a time for us to come together and celebrate the men and women that have gave their life for our country. It's more than just an excuse for family and friends to gather together, it's a time to reflect on all the accomplishments of these individuals achieved during their life. On today's post we are showing how to put together and host the ultimate Memorial Day BBQ.

First you'll need to go grocery shopping and pick up some of your favorite produce, such as fresh strawberries, watermelon, and berries. You want to also decide what the main course of your bbq will be, whether that's hot dogs, hamburgers, shrimp, or even steak! We decided to go the hamburger route since it's simple to prepare and it seems to always be a crowd pleaser. What's great about our Freezable Buffalo Check Picnic Tote is you can keep all your groceries chilled while you transport them to your family or friends house to prepare your meals!

Once you have all of your produce washed and prepped you can start putting together your dishes! We first created this summer spinach salad by placing a bag of spinach in a large bowl. We then topped this off with fresh cut strawberries and blackberries and added in dried cranberries and candied walnuts. We also boiled corn on the cob, which you could also grill. On the corn we simple added a little  butter and sprinkled parmesan, a little garlic powder, and salt and pepper. Lastly we prepared cheeseburgers and sliced tomatoes, pickles, a head of lettuce and onions to add in!

Now when it comes to decorations we went with a simple American Flag table runner with blue place mats. Aside from using fruit that was patriotic colors, we found some delicious American Flag cookies for a sweet little treat. In our glasses we used red paper straws with small stars along them to fit the theme. Our plates and napkins where mix matched with red and blue, some with checkers and others plain. All of these little details combined makes for a beautiful table setting for the special occasion.

Lastly, don't forget to have a good time and enjoy all the delicious food you just prepared! Happy Memorial Day weekend, we hope you all have a safe and fun filled holiday! Cheers!
